Antoine Wroten was working in a pharmaceutical lab working on nuclear imaging drugs, when the headlines about the contaminated crisis in Flint, Michigan caught his attention. “The situation got me interested in working in water and wastewater, and I found an opportunity across the river at Alexandria Renew,” said Antoine Wroten, Resource Recovery Compliance Program Manager at DC Water’s Blue Plains.

Antoine recently was promoted from his previous role as a wastewater operator in DC Water’s solids section to a role collecting and monitoring Bloom data to ensure it meets requirements set by the EPA and state regulatory bodies.

“This role builds on my prior experience in the public health realm and allows me to work to protect public health and the environment we live in. I’m excited about how the position aligns both to my career goals and my educational and professional background,” said Antoine.
