If a picture is worth a thousand words, before and after shots are worth a million. We love these photos of a Bloom-enhanced makeover of the Literary Garden at Kensington Park Library in Kensington, Maryland.

“I had been looking to create an eye-catching entrance garden bed for a few years now. When the opportunity arose through Bloom, I knew just what to do: create a large no-dig garden bed by laying down cardboard and piling 6+ inches of compost on top, complete with a step stone pathway and informational signage to educate visitors about what we were doing,” said Karin Reber, the garden’s designer and curator.

I am beyond thrilled with the results. After several hours and a crew of my dedicated volunteers, we had the entrance makeover I had envisioned for the garden, but better. We have already gotten so many compliments, and the native seeds we scattered haven’t even all begun to sprout yet! I can’t wait to order more in the future; I have two other no-dig beds in mind since this one turned out so well!”
