All’s well that ends well — including a nicely restored lawn after being torn up to install wells on your property! These before and after shots are courtesy of James Farquhar, Chair of the University of Maryland’s Department of Geology.

As James explained, “I learned about Bloom last fall on a tour of Blue Plains, and chose to use it after installing three geothermal wells this past winter. My experience was good. We (me, my wife, and daughter) spent two days filling, moving, and dumping wheelbarrow after wheelbarrow. We then spread out the piles using rakes. We then flattened it, first by walking on it, and then using a rented roller. After that we spread seed with a push spreader, which we covered with straw and watered. There was a little suspense because the dump truck arrived and rain was expected two days later. Fortunately, when the rain came, everything stayed put. It was more work than I anticipated, but in the end it was very manageable.

The driver who delivered Bloom was a pleasure to meet. He was positive, and seemed ready to make everything work. Our drive is quite small and he managed to put it right where I envisioned it going even though there was a low tree branch he had to navigate around. I will probably do this again sometime to work on another part of the yard.”
