Bloom was excited to welcome several groups to Blue Plains these past few weeks, from students from The George Washington University School of Media & Public Affairs, who came to learn about the many environmental benefits of Bloom, and a group of farmers and ag extension agents from the University of Maryland, who came to learn about Bloom’s benefits for crop and soil health.
The ag tour came on the tails of the recently released Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) guidelines for PFAS and biosolids. If you missed the news, in late August, Maryland announced a tiered approach, with different application limits provided for biosolids products at different thresholds of PFAS. Bloom easily meets MDE’s most restrictive limit of 20 parts per billion of PFOA or PFOS, which will allow its products to be used without restrictions.
