This month, we’re celebrating the Domesle family, who transformed their yard into a cover crop oasis with the help of Bloom.
“We’ve been really pleased with Bloom… our family worked together over the following weekend to spread a thin layer across our yard; our four-year-old especially loved getting involved,” said Kelly Domesle. “The texture of the woody blend was perfect for this application. What a difference a week makes! The clover, daikon radish, and winter rye seeds germinated quickly and are growing up as strong seedlings. There’s no way they would have had such a healthy head start without Bloom. We can’t wait to see how everything looks this spring.”
Bloom is rich in organic matter and nutrients that improve root and leaf growth for all types of plants, including cover crops, which can help further improve soil health and fertility. The Domesles started with poor quality, highly compacted native soils taken over by invasive plants in their yard, so they cleared the area first. Then they applied a layer of Bloom’s Woody Blend and planted with a variety of cover crop seeds, which quickly germinated.
