Bloom recently participated in the 19th Annual Seed Exchanges hosted by Washington Gardener magazine, offering gardening enthusiasts the chance to swap seeds, collect garden goodies, and learn about sustainable garden practices. The two-part event took place at Brookside Gardens in Wheaton, MD, and Green Spring Gardens in Alexandria, VA.
Attendees enjoyed a variety of activities, including educational presentations from Abrehet Abdu and Janet Hostetler of Bloom Wild on winter seed sowing, and the event’s organizer, Kathy Jentz, on seed saving.
As part of Bloom’s commitment to supporting plant and soil health, participants received goody bags that included free samples of Bloom. Both events also featured a raffle with fantastic prizes, which included a free delivery of Bloom (being promoted by Bloom’s April Thompson in the photo above), which turned out to be a popular offering to help local gardeners boost their soil health.
For those who missed out, Bloom will be exhibiting at the upcoming Rooting DC conference, a free all-day event that provides education and community building around urban agriculture and food systems in the DC area. Participants can visit Bloom’s table to receive free seeds and samples of Bloom. We hope to see you there!
