Bloom is honored to play a small but important part in the Bon Air Memorial Rose Garden, a living memorial to WWII veterans, helping to keep its 120+ varieties of roses blooming.

Having been introduced to Bloom, Kevin Stalica, Landscape Manager for the County of Arlington, decided to give it a try in the rose garden in 2024, where Bloom has now been used two years running.

“We monitored the garden for a year and found that the roses responded very well, probably in no small part to Bloom’s rich organic matter helping feed the microbes in the soil,” said Kevin. “Bloom is a great product; I definitely recommend it. I’ve told others about it and have used it at home, where it has helped my plants grow despite my otherwise heavy clay soil.

Part of the 24-acre Bon Air Park, the memorial rose garden was started by avid rose gardener Nellie Broyhill in 1951 and moved to Bon Air in 1961. The garden features numerous award winning roses including the historic Peace Rose as well as notable contributions from personalities like Madame Chiang Kai-shek. Today, the garden is a favorite spot for local couples to tie the knot. Read more of its history here.
