Gary Sydnor has nurtured the land on his Huntingtown, Maryland farm since he acquired it in 1987, but it wasn’t until Gary started using Bloom that he saw his hay yield nearly double.
“Last year’s first cutting we got 380 bales, whereas this year we got 600,” said Gary, who farms a total of nearly 200 acres. Gary first tried Bloom last year after hearing good things from farmer friends. He had used a different biosolids product previously, but was put off by its odor, particularly given the farm is next to an elementary school. “Bloom still has a little odor, but we were able to spread this when school was in session without any issues or complaints. And Bloom came through for us when we needed it; I’m really happy about the service,” he said.
